The Apprenticeship in Hospitality Scotland is awarded prestigious royal recognition for their investment in learning and development and training of young people in hospitality in Scotland

On August 15th 2018 The Apprenticeship in Hospitality Scotland (AHS) received the news that it had been awarded with a Princess Royal Training Award after a rigorous application and assessment process starting back in March 2018.  The team at AHS is thrilled and delighted, not to mention extremely proud of each and every one of our partners, board members, supporters and of course our apprentices.

AHS started back in 2014 with a vision to create a world class, industry led, hospitality apprenticeship programme aimed at young people to encourage them into the world of work in Hospitality & Tourism and this is exactly what has been created.  The purpose is to ensure that the programme will inspire, nurture and develop the next generation of highly skilled talent for the Scottish hospitality industry.

The Princess Royal Training Awards is an honour for UK employers that have created lasting impact by successfully linking their skills development needs to business performance. 48 UK businesses, from a wide range of sectors, have achieved the Princess Royal Training Awards standard of excellence in training, in 2018. The announcement follows the adjudication of the Princess Royal Training Awards Commission, composed of seven leading figures in the business and learning & development community and HRH The Princess Royal, who is the President of the City & Guilds Group.

On receiving the award Rohaise Rose-Bristow, Chairperson of AHS had this to say:

“AHS started with a vision to provide and run the best Hospitality Apprenticeship in Scotland, receiving the Princess Royal Training Award in 2018 allows us to join a community of excellence and we now can categorically endorse what we set out to achieve.  We are so thrilled, delighted and proud to be given this honourable award which will inspire us to continue in developing the next generation of highly skilled talent for hospitality in Scotland.  Thank you to all associated with AHS for their dedication, commitment and hard work, together we have created something outstanding”.

AHS will be awarded by HRH Princess Anne at a ceremony held at St James Palace, London on October 31st 2018.
