What made you choose an apprenticeship and in particular the Apprenticeship in Hospitality Scotland?
Apprenticeships are the way forward now especially in the Hospitality industry. There is so much on the job training you need to learn. I chose this apprenticeship as it had a great variety of learning and opportunity. It has allowed me to have a wide network of people and to see many places.

Where are you now? / What position do you hold:
I am at The Gleneagles Hotel it is my fourth year now! Currently a housekeeping supervisor

How did the apprenticeship help you get here?
The apprenticeship has allowed me to try all different aspects of the hotel, in particular I really enjoyed the kitchen side. However from having such a vast knowledge of the hotel I was able to proceed to a supervisor position within housekeeping which gives me more responsibility.

What would you say to those thinking of applying this year?
Make the most of your journey, take everything in that you are given and just enjoy yourself!! I have met so many friends during my time so do not be put off by meeting new people!!

I met Albert Roux at an apprenticeship conference! I also can waterski
