Apprenticeship in Hospitality Scotland (AHS) has opened applications for its world-class, industry-led hospitality apprenticeship programme.

Open to 17–24 year olds, AHS was implemented to nurture, develop and inspire the next generation of highly skilled talent for the Scottish hospitality industry.

Developed to offer an alternative to university, AHS is designed to encourage young people to enter the hospitality industry and start a lifelong career in one of the most rewarding industries.

Apprentices are based all over Scotland and the qualification is delivered with a blended learning approach where by the end of the two years, they are awarded their Modern Apprenticeship with the view of being able to continue on to an optional third year.

AHS offers two routes to training, the Hospitality Services and Professional Cookery Apprenticeship.

With the aim to remove the stigma of the hospitality industry being an unrealistic career path, each apprentice is paid at least the national minimum wage and the course is supplemented with masterclasses and learning journeys to enhance the learning of the apprentices.
