What made you choose an apprenticeship and in particular the Apprenticeship in Hospitality Scotland?
The reason I decided to choose an apprenticeship is because I wasn’t a massive fan of school and knew that university/college wasn’t the best option for me. I was particularly interested in the Apprenticeship in Hospitality Scotland as I wanted to travel and seen the hospitality sector as my stepping stone to be able to do this.

Where are you now? / What position do you hold:
I have been with Gleneagles for two years now after transferring from Cameron House to complete the remainder of my apprenticeship in 2018. The position I now hold is within the leisure department as a Playground Planner. We have over 50 activities available so we are on hand to create itineraries and answer any questions guests may have prior to or during their stay with us.

How did the apprenticeship help you get here?
I would say I am where I am now within the hotel as the apprenticeship gave me a huge boost of self confidence. This pushed me to enquiring about spending my third and final year in a different department which was not one of the original four options. This decision was completely supported by the apprenticeship and I have now happily been a part of the Playground Planner team for a year and a half.

What would you say to those thinking of applying this year?
To those thinking of applying - I would say go for it! The support and opportunity’s you will be provided with is amazing. You will learn and grow so much throughout the three years of the apprenticeship.

Something Interesting/Fav chef/Hobby/fav sport/something we don’t know about you(?)
